We stayed at the Grand hotel capodimonte for 1 week in april 08 to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. The hotel was fantastic! Rooms spotless clean with fresh linen daily.

The food was fantastic and staff in restaurant were very friendly and helpful- lots of choice- even for breakfast and we were never rushed , even in the busy mornings.

Overall we would reccomend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a quiet , peaceful get away- can't wait to book up and return again soon!

My husband and I stayed in the Grand Hotel Capodimonte in Sorrento for our Honeymoon four years ago, returned the next year and have just booked to go back again this year..and we can't wait.
Of course the service can be a tad 'huffy', but that's just Italians (I know my dad is from Naples and half my are family there). If you smile and try the odd Italian word they love it!
The rooms are great, wonderful, just think Italian romance, not perfect, new, shiny 5* British standards.
We usually prefer modern hotels, however, this is just the best. The food, although good, doesn't compare to the restaurants in Sorrento, but they are just trying to make it a little more meat/veg. as most half board hotels do.
Yes, it ain't cheap, but where is in Italy? If you want to go to the corner shop to save a few Euros for a beer maybe try Benidorm.

Oh, make sure to book a sea view or partial sea view. Both are excellent.

We booked through Airtours and booked a seaview room for our wedding anniversary. We weren't disappointed the room was beautiful with exceptional views over the bay. The hotel staff were friendly and the food at breakfast and in the evening was superb. We were worried about going half board as we'd never done this before but we needn't have been it was great.

Overall a lovely hotel and one which we'd definitely go back to.

We just returned from 8 days in Sorrento. After much searching, we had decided to stay at the Grand Hotel De La Ville. Unfortunately it was vaction time in England and the hotel was full of noisy children running the hallways at any time of the night and causing noise in the room above us. We requested a change the next morning and were offered a room in their sister hotel Capodimonte. I had also read mixed reviews but what a gem. After a 25 Euro 5 minute cab ride, we arrived at this lovely hotel and were given a small but lovely room overlooking Sorrento and the ocean. The hotel is and staff was excellent and the breakfast and service wonderful. The location is great and the bus right in front of the door. Our room was abit dated but there are newer rooms but we had booked a no view room and were rewarded with the best view possible. My husband attended a conference in the Hilton Grand Palace which cost twice as much and none of the people that stayed there had a view other than a concrete wall. . He had a short 10 min. walk to get there. We loved the Capodimonte.
