We took a tour bus from Ercolano station up to the voclano as it was just about to leave. They charged an excessive amout of money. We had suspicions that the driver was drunk as he was swerving all over the place. After they parked in the car park, we walked for 15- 20 mins up a steep stoney path. Wear trainers because the pebbles are really painful on your feet. They really should get it pathed. The views are more impresive than the crater itselft and it was a great feeling standing at the top. However, we all agreed that we were glad we did it, but wouldn't do it again. TIP: Do not make a special trip for the volcano - it isn't worth it.
