Having used Trip Advisor religiously I thought I couldn't go wrong. Unfortunately I now don't recognise the comments made by previous people, having returned from a visit there. The hotel actually advertises itself ( on its own promotional material and entrance) as a 3 star, so that really should be the reality check here. It's OK, but not that great.
OK, so 90 Euros is a fair price in this area, but the room was very cramped, with old dated decor, and a shabby dirty bathroom. Bed uncomfortable, noisy aircon, and don't get me going on the noise in the hotel (paper thin walls and a constant BANGING of doors in the morning.) I think we were in one of the 'un modernised' rooms, but the bottom line is they shouldn't be selling shabby rooms, if they advertise themselves as modern and clean. How many rooms are shabby? It's given me a negative impression.
There are some redeeming features: close to the back entrance of the Pompeii ruins (only 200m), close to the Sancturio Curcumvesuvius station (nb: this isn't on the Naples - Sorrento line), and the national rail line.
Room had a balcony overlooking the mountains. Breakfast adequate, and a lovely little garden at the back.
Staff were OK, but isn't that their job?! Nothing special.
I am used to staying in all kinds of accommodation, but this didn't live up to the reputation and positioning at Tripadvisor.
For a 3 star, it's adequate for a short stay.
