This family owned and run hotel an hour + 10 minutes by train from Rome (to Formia + 5 mins in taxi) has been our haven in these hot months in Rome. The staff will bend over backwards to help accommodate needs (especially those of fussy children!). The rooms are fine, not all have baths ie some only have showers. The rooms we've had have been comfortable, cool, clean and quiet, not super luxurious sure but reasonably priced. The pool is beautiful, well maintained, fantastic for small kids with a large side pool that any 2/3+ year old can stand in safely. Fabulous food right from breakfast through lunch & dinner. Every person working here seems to have a genuine smile on their face. We haven't made it to the beach yet but we're going again so maybe this time...
