We stayed here from 27 Oct. to 02 Nov. 2011. The location is very good. It’s just a few streets away from the major sites, taxi stand and Metro stations. There is a coffee shop in the corner, a grocery store across and a decent restaurant next door.
Marcello, the receptionist was very helpful and attentive. He gave us all the information we needed with a map of Rome, the minute we checked in, without us asking. He also answered all our questions. what he did not know, he will check out and tell us later. The older man and the young lady were not communicative or helpful.
The room was spacious. It was convenient to have the small fridge. They have a water kettle but nothing else. They should offer coffee and tea in the room and a coffee maker. There is also a big round table and two chairs in the room, very handy to work and eat. The decoration is funky. The bed was very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked very well. The bathroom is long but narrow and shower is very small, even though there is room for a bigger one. There is nowhere to place shampoo or anything else inside the shower, except on the floor. But then there is little space to bend or kneel down. Really weird, considering I’m a petite person, just 4’11” and 125 lbs. Big American men will have difficulties.
Room had double pane windows, but still could hear street noise outside a bit. Especially, we could hear trucks cleaning the streets and work being done on the street. The good thing is that there is a no traffic street on one side of the building. You could hear the noisy neighbors going up & down the stairs chatting and shouting to one another. They sounded French and I was tempted to ask them to be more considerate.
The TV channels were fantastic. They had French and Spanish as well. The dubbed movies could be seen in the original language at the touch of a button. The TV was a huge plasma one.
