Every Sunday in the trendy Trastevere area is Rome's flea market. I was quite disappointed - too much plastic made in China LV handbags and shoes amongst other poor quality goods. I did see leather jackets, clothes from 1-10Euros, old makeup, but nothing of interest. I did purchase a small stove top expresso coffee maker made in Italy for 3Euros - made of aluminum not stainless steel. There were a few kitchen items of interest. I was hoping for dead stock - last year's goods - but no luck this time. Roughtly worth about an hour's visit.
The walk along the river is beautiful, passing the Isle in the midst of the River. Combine this trip with a walk to the old Jewish Ghetto and area ruins - now a trendy area full of restaurants.. All just a short walk from Capital Hill - walk down the stairs and head toward the old Theatre that looks like the Colossuem. Or, from the Colosseum, head toward the Arch of Constantine and walk around the perimeter of the Palantine ruins until you reach the old Jewish Ghetto.
