“Outstanding Personal Service”

My husband and I just returned on 10/27 from our first trip to
Rome. Our stay at the Sofitel was wonderful. On our arrival,
hotels usually do not let you check in, however, I had taken a
spill on the street and was jetlagged and frazzled, so they were
kind enough to give us a room at 10AM, which is highly unusual.
The room was immaculate, and I must stay extremely quiet, so
quiet in fact it seemed no one else was on our floor (but that was
not true). The staff spoke wonderful English and the doorman
engaged us in several conversations about where to go and how
to do it. In addition, when I called the front desk about the
temperature and how to work the thermostat, two men arrived
immediately! The breakfast was great, top notch choices,
attentive service and just generally better than I expected. I would
return tomorrow! They also have a rooftop garden that overlooks
all of Rome. The location was superb. Only complaint was that
I wished they had some chairs on the rooftop.

Great location near to Spanish Steps. Fabulous room and classy hotel.
Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay in Rome was truly unforgetable.

I stayed at the Sofitel Roma in Oct. we booked two rooms. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a good location. They offer a nice breakfast which was included in our rate. The staff was fine, nothing outstanding. We had to track down the bartender each night to get a drink. The rooms are neat and clean, but the sheets are made of burlap. Ok, not really, but were so scratchy and stiff that we put towels down to sleep on! I booked the hotel after reading reviews on trip advisor, so I thought it was important to note the sheet problem for others to be aware of.

What a fabulous hotel. We stayed for three nights in mid-september. My husband had called ahead and told them it was a special birthday and they had upgraded our room to a de-luxe, corner room on the 6th floor with a view across the roof-tops to St Peters and the Vatican - and a little balcony! The large room and scrumptious bathroom were beautifully furnished with antique furniture, a bed big enough to sleep sideways on and luxury soft furnishings. The location was just a short 2 block walk to Via Veneta and a short walk to the Spanish Steps approx 5 minutes to the top and just a bit further to the Trevis Fountain. One morning we got up early and walked to the Vatican City, an easy walk taking about 30 minutes from the hotel. We took an open top bus around the city jumping off at the Colloseum and other places of interest . But back to the hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast (actually one of the best I have ever had in a hotel outside the UK) included in the room rate. Would definately stay here again when we go back to Rome and would recommend it wholeheartedly. PS. Great products in the Bathroom too.

- Any tips/secrets for future travellers? — when you visit the Vatican go really early and take a guided tour - they get in before the doors open to the public. If you don't book in advance pick up one of the tour touts who run along the que looking for people to join a tour - we did and it was great. We jumped the que and had a great guide.

Fanastic Hotel, fantastic location!

it really made our stay in Rome perfect.

Concierge were really helpful and gave us excellent tips for all avoiding all the queues to the main attractions.

Couldn't fault it!
