We had a wonderful 3 night stay here earlier this month. I communicated directly with the hotel via email and always received prompt & courteous responses. We opted for a quad room which was perfect for 4 adults and about 5 small luggages! Everyone at this property was so friendly and helpful! It is located just minutes from Trevi, Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon and Spanish Steps.
Only 2 small 'complaints' while we were there. We were there during the recent heat wave and the A/C was not working properly. In fact, it started dripping in the middle of the night so we had to put a towel underneath the drip to avoid any wetting the carpet. It seemed common since there were a couple more drips in the hallway as we were leaving. The other thing was the bath/shower. They had these 1/2 doors (accordian style) which do nothing to prevent water from dripping onto the floor as you're taking a shower. They could easily resolve this by changing to shower curtains or putting a full "door" for the bath. But as I said, these are just 2 miinor things.
Breakfast was included so we were able to fill up on toast, pastries, coffee, hot cocoa, cereal, ham slices, etc. Internet is available in the back. I believe it was 1 euro for 12 minutes.
If we come back to Rome, I'll be back to Hotel Hiberia! Ciao!

Just got round to posting this review, but I thought that I used Tripadvisor so much before I went to Rome that I need to give something back.

This is a great hotel, in terms of location you are so close to everything, the Trevi is 5 minutes, the Roman Forum 10 minutes.

Staff are very helpful, we were given a room on the 4th floor and the views were fab.

Tips:

1.Don't go near the Coliseum unless you have bought a ticket from the Kiosk on Palatine Hill, if you do you will by pass all the queues and walk straight in.

2. Be at the Vatican for no later than 8:30 and if you wish to go to see the Cistine Chapel, get up about 4:00. The queues are mad and life is too short.

3. At the vatican, arrive at St. Peters for 9:00 or so and climb to the dome before you see inside the church

4. Villa Borgese is great for picnic

5. Cafe Greco for a coffee, street opposite the Spanish Steps. Casanova had coffee there.

Recently spent 2 nights / 3 days in Rome at the end of a 14 day cruise through the Eastern Med. Hotel Hiberia exceeded all experiences I've had in European hotels. From the time I was greeted at the front desk, until I checked out, I can't say enough wonderful things about not only the staff, but the accommodations and the location as well.

I arrived 4 hours earlier than planned, and after being invited back to the coffee bar for a refreshment (Danilo - the owner - makes the best capuccino in Rome!), and more waiting, they decided to assign a different room and had me checked in by 11:00 am. The double room was very cool, clean, spacious, and included A/C. I was a solo traveller, but the hotel had numerous families with children.

I chose the hotel because of location - 15 minutes to Coloseo; Trevi, Pantheon, Spanish Steps; 5 minutes to the Roman Forum, Trajan's Column and Market; and just down the street from the Presidential Palace.

Danilo and staff - I salute you in making my stay in your City so comfortable and welcoming.

We stayed here in late July in what was supposed to be the deluxe family room. We didn't get what we reserved for rooms even though we had proof of the booking but still had to pay full price for what turned out to be a double room and two saggy roll up cots. The staff wouldn't offer up any compensation whatsoever and said the matter was out of their hands. Since no compensation was offered and no refund, we left early. On departure the Hotel staff booked us a mini-van cab ride to the airport. The driver checked in at the desk, went to the bar at the back of the hotel lobby and had "one for the road" as the saying goes. Turns out he was completely sloshed. We barely made it to the airport. The driver fell asleep at the wheel several times and only through the grace of God and my bothering him over the seat from the back of the Mercedes van did we make it to the airport. I am not impressed with a hotel that allows a cab driver to imbibe before driving!! On a positive ending, the four of us (2 Adults and two older teens) liked the location and the restaurant next door was OK too.
