Istituto “il Rosario” is a convent & accommodation in Roma, on Via Sanr’Agata dei Goti #10, in the historic center (a 5 minute stroll to the Coliseum), so no taxi needed.
A safe, tourist-free, neighborhood with restaurants and laundry - one Metro stop called “Cavour” on the “B” Line (1 euro/person) from Termini, the central train station, with an express to Fiumicino International Airport.
Sister Martha Estrada runs il Rosario. She and all staff spoke English well. She uses email@example.com. Our room had an interesting courtyard view and no neighbors. We did not share a common wall on any side. Quiet. It was #201 I believe.
il Rosario has a quick elevator to splendid rooftop views if you want to sit and enjoy a drink up there. (photos attached)
If you want to check your email or order tickets, il Rosario provides 2 computers plus printer and free internet access in 30 minute periods. If you were to donate a euro, the Convent would appreciate it.
Breakfast, included with the 98 euro room rate, was our main social exchange with other guests – terrific on-the-spot advice that saved us time and money. Meals featured several hot drinks including cappuccino, two juices, several cereal choices, milk, yogurt, bread, rolls, butter, honey, plus jams and jellies.
Rooms: Not only rooms but everywhere was spotless. No nook or cranny had yesterday’s dust in it. Amazing.
Bathroom was well maintained: Good hot water pressure, liquid soap, shampoo daily and oversize towels.
Facilities include a chapel (see photo). You can enter any time.
No one asked our religion. It was a non-issue.
il Rosario’s upper level garden attracts guests after a day about Rome. (see photo) It’s completely tranquil. Friendships just blossom. What a place!
