We were pleasantly surprised--outside the hotel looks "fair", inside the welcome was nice, the rooms excellent--especially nice, large, well appointed bathrooms, the breakfast fine, and the location was just a 5 minute walk to the center of Parma.

This hotel is a nice find; within walking distance of both the train station and historical center. Rooms were quiet, breakfast was a nice buffet. The Restaurant Maxim's was very nice and the food very well prepared. I got a deal saver for 88 euro per night on their website. I would recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. Clientele included business travelers and other tourists.

Just returned from a stay in Parma which in itself is a wonderfully charming and sophisticated city. I must however disagree with any characterization as another reviewer put it, with this hotel being "elegant" or "downtown." The hotel is simply adequate and an easy 15 minute walk from the center (historic) center. There arent many choices in Parma so that may seem a bit far but it really isnt. While the service and staff were attentive, the hotel would qualify as a 3-star in most other places. As someone familiar with all sorts of hotel-types from grand luxury to motels, I can safely say most Americans would find this hotel in the Holiday Inn category albeit on a few floors with a restaurant. It also caters to business groups, so convention type folks are who youll see staying here.

I stay in this hotel for my winter holiday. Elegant, comfortable hotel situated in down Town at two minutes from the railway station. The rooms are not so spacious but very comfortable and the service very friendly and professional. The Maxim's restaurant (hotel restaurant) is excellent, you do not need to try the smaller restaurants in the town centre. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for good,charm and character.
