Although I can't say I really had a bad meal in Cinque Terre, the food at Aristide is a cut above the rest. It was so good, in fact, that we ate there two nights in a row. I ordered the same main dish as the previous night (fish ravioli with shrimp), and reprised my husband's first course of potatoes and octopus. SO delicious! Other restaurants in town looked appealing, but I don't think that they could top Aristide for fine food and an attractive atmosphere. One evening, we even got a complimentary portion of lemoncino, which was a nice touch. A large family group of five adults and at least as many kids arrived one evening as we were finishing up, and we were impressed with how kindly the waiters treated the table full of kids, who sat apart from their parents. The same group arrived the next night as well, so maybe this was a regular occurrence. We had breakfast at the café of the same name, and enjoyed the delicious pastries and the huge mugs of latte which satisfied our American-style craving for massive amounts of coffee with milk. Definitely give this place a try if you find yourself fortunate enough to be in lovely Manarola!
