While in the Cinque Terre area the walking tracks between the five villages were closed due to storm damage so we had fun travelling from village to village on the local train. We arrived in Manarola early one morning from Riomaggiore where we were staying and found Aristide right opposite the tunnel from the station a good breakfast stop. It was quite busy and the service was good. You can get most breakfast goodies there at a reasonable price. We had lovely mushroom omelettes which certainly filled the gap. Lovely part of the world to be in so would definitely give this place the thumbs up for breakfast.

Although I can't say I really had a bad meal in Cinque Terre, the food at Aristide is a cut above the rest. It was so good, in fact, that we ate there two nights in a row. I ordered the same main dish as the previous night (fish ravioli with shrimp), and reprised my husband's first course of potatoes and octopus. SO delicious! Other restaurants in town looked appealing, but I don't think that they could top Aristide for fine food and an attractive atmosphere. One evening, we even got a complimentary portion of lemoncino, which was a nice touch. A large family group of five adults and at least as many kids arrived one evening as we were finishing up, and we were impressed with how kindly the waiters treated the table full of kids, who sat apart from their parents. The same group arrived the next night as well, so maybe this was a regular occurrence. We had breakfast at the café of the same name, and enjoyed the delicious pastries and the huge mugs of latte which satisfied our American-style craving for massive amounts of coffee with milk. Definitely give this place a try if you find yourself fortunate enough to be in lovely Manarola!

After hearing from several people that dining out in Cinque Terre was very limited, we found this wasn't true at all! We had breakfast several times at Aristide and enjoyed some great scrambled eggs and omelets, something that is hard to find. The service was very good and quick. We also ate at the main restaurant for dinner one night and both enjoyed our meal very much, really fresh and imaginative dishes with great service....we were amazed that there weren't more people there!

We were in Manarola for 2 days and must have stopped here 4 or 5 times. On the first visit we just felt so comfortable why go anywhere else. The staff are really good and though we did not eat there the food is reasonably priced. We mainly stopped for our proseco top up. It is right opposite the entrance to the station tunnel.
