On Riomagiore's main street, in Cinque Terre, as you walk down, on the left side is Il Pescato Cucinato. This is a tiny shop that serves lightly fried seafood in a paper cone that is great. Skip the expensive restaurants near the water and try this place. We had a mixed seafood cone, with crab claws, scallops, calamari, sardines and other seafood that was lightly fried to perfection. It costs about 10 Euros. We walked across the street and sat on the Church steps and ate. We liked it so much, we ordered a second cone. If you are still hungry, get a slice of pizza or focaccia for a few Euros. To top it off, take a seat at an outside table and have a liter of the local wine and watch the people walk by. To us, this was a perfect lunch hour, much better than spending 50 Euros at a seaside restaurant serving average food to tourists.
