We stayed for two weeks in Oct 2006, and had previously stayed for two weeks in June 1997. Both times we had the more desirable front rooms that faced the promenade and river. Rooms are average size, but well equipped, quiet and clean. The hotel is family owned and operated, and all four family members are present every day. They could not have been more helpful, and took care of all needs and quickly solved the very few problems that arose. The dining room is also outstanding, and it is wise to book a room with half pension, so that you can enjoy both the buffet breakfast, and elegant dinners. There is an extensive wine list. The location is the best in Meran, on the prommenade, close to shopping, and transportation. Clientele is mostly European as few Americans have discovered the Sud Tirol. We would certainly return a third time.
