We (family of 4 adults) stayed in the hotel Giovanni on our trip home from Croatia. We looked for a hotel which was conveniently located to park the car in a safe parking lot (the hotel has an open area parking lot at the back of the hotel), which was quiet and handy to get into the city centre. The Giovanni met all these requirements.
We booked two double rooms on the same morning and when we arrived got our rooms immediately. Check in was friendly and efficient. We had very large rooms with a large bathroom. They were quiet towards the outside (despite being close to a noisy road). As with all hotels, noise might be a problem from the inside (neighbours), but we didn't experience that.
There's a little bus that takes you to the city centre, the bus station is around the block. A taxi ride is about 8 Euro, which is fine - it takes about 5 minutes.
The breakfast was lovely. The hotel owner / manager actually makes the pastry herself, and the little cakes I had were delicious. There's a wide range of choice (ham, cheese, bread, pastry, joghurt, fruit etc.) and we really liked it.
The overall impression of the hotel is a bit dated , the rooms might perhaps need a bit of renovation (especially the carpets)- also, it seems that the area around the hotel deteriorated a bit since it has been built. But we felt very happy there, and we enjoyed our short stay a lot.
I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to use the hotel as a basis to travel to other cities in the region.
