Go once, you are a valued customer. Go twice, you are family. Warm, delightful staff -- the owners, Elio and Vittorio, are present -- looming almost -- helpful cheerful, and generous. If you order dessert, the young lady who makes them may quite come out and compliment your choice. The food is always well prepared, and eating off-menu is not discouraged. Not expensive as Venice goes -- the sort of place you go back to regularly for the good food and the lovely people.
One drawback -- it is very popular with groups, and on some odd nites the back room can be noisy -- Kon Tiki groups are especially loud and raucous -- but the enclave in front is safe enough. Mid-day there is an inexpensive workman's special, and the place is mobbed with carpenters, bricklayers, gondoliers, et al. Fun.
