We found the 'hop on, hop off' bus really useful as part of a day trip to Verona as we could familiarise ourselves quickly with the layout of the city and major points of interest. It is a small city though, and there are fewer/less frequent buses than in larger centres. Hourly for the double-decker red line and half-hourly for the smaller blue line bus. The need for a smaller bus on the blue route is obvious when you reach the archway in the road at the highest point of the route! Problem is that several people waiting along the route for the smaller bus couldn't 'hop on' because the bus was full, leaving them stranded for at least 30 minutes. This was on a Monday, so not a super busy time. I'd suggest only entering and leaving the bus at the major stops in the city centre to avoid this problem. Previous reviewer mentioned that the stop at the railway station isn't obvious, and I agree. The station forecourt is large, includes a bus station, and has a big construction site in the middle of it as well at the moment. We guessed correctly that the bus would stop right outside the main entrance to the train station, but it needs to navigate the one-way system on the way in so it disappears from view and seems to have gone straight past the station before it reappears from behind the construction site. There is no sign that I could see at this stop, but all the others were marked clearly. Overall good value.
