One reason for choosing this hotel for a 10 day break in Palermo was the rating on TA. The other was the location. Not quite sure why this is ranked so high - doesn’t say too much for the others.
However, the room was fine, pretty standard stuff even though we booked the best one we could here, and certainly not cheap. View from the tiny balcony was of a rusty tin roof below and crumbling buildings above, but as much of this side of Palermo seems to be crumbling – it is to be expected.
The restaurant doubles as the bar, which doubles as the breakfast area. Dinner itself was pretty poor (we only ate there twice), but certainly outclassed the breakfast which, frankly, was awful. Don’t expect anything other than tepid coffee, semi-stale pastries. The bacon and eggs certainly didn’t look like they wanted to be there. However they are quite happy to cook up something else if required but, in my opinion, you shouldn’t need to when offered a buffet style breakfast.
On the plus side I thought the location was very good, walking distance to pretty much everything if you were looking for the old Palermo. Hotel was very quiet and the staff were excellent.
