I went to the Grand Hotel Villa Medicis with my son and husband at the end of the summer, after spending a week sightseeing the beautiful Toscana countryside. The hotel has an ideal location near Florence’s top attractions. Even though the Villa Medicis is at a walking distance from downtown, it’s isolated from the crowds that gather around the museums, churches and historical places. An island of peace and luxury in the middle of Florence! My little kid enjoyed a lot the swimming pool and a couple of times we had our lunch by the beautiful garden. We had our best Italian dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. Great food and service: just perfect!

My girlfriend was very happy to stay at this hotel with its little pool. We booked another hotel and were informed that they were full and upgraded us to this hotel *which was father from city center than the original*.

The pool was certainly the highlight of the hotel. Very nice, but honestly just too small (never enough room on the lounge chairs). The concierge recommended several wonderful restaurants. I was happy with the food suggestions, the girlfriend was happy with the pool.

This was an absolutely lovely hotel. Excellent staff, beautiful rooms, amazing location, lovely grounds. You will not go wrong booking this hotel. It is the perfect hotel in Florence.

Don't hesitate to stay here. We booked a garden view room and we were given a double upgrade to a 5th floor suite with views overlooking the Duomo. Our balcony was completely private and large. The room had very high domed ceilings and was beautifully decorated. The pool was a welcomed oasis from the July heat of Florence and was breezy. The service was excellent. Everyone called us by name. The restaurant is romantic. We ate outside overlooking the pool at night. The pool grounds are lit up at night and it is very nice. We were within walking distance to The Uffizi, Academia, Boboli Gardens, Ponte Vecchio, shopping and anything else you may want to see in Florence. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel and it was an excellent value in Italy.
