We were very excited to stay here (September 2011), knowing this was a budget hotel and not expecting lavish accommodations but at least cleanliness. While our room looked beautiful, the bathroom was not very clean and looked like it had been poorly clean. There was even some minor mold in the grouting at the top, but not on the shower floor, so we disregarded that. While Charlie was very helpful and nice, the woman doing breakfast was the RUDEST person I have ever come across. She literally yelled at us as we walked into the breakfast room because it was full and pointed for us to wait outside. We complained to Charlie who smoothed things over but it left a bad taste in our mouth and her service was poor for the remainder of our trip. She also happened to be our cleaning lady which explained the poor sweeping/vacuuming and lack of linens being washed...Which explains the BED BUGS!
We stayed 4 nights and this was our very first stop in our Italian vacation. On the third night, we say some bites but thought it was from our Tuscany vespa tour and being in all the fields during the tour. No, it was bed bugs and on the fourth night we had 20+ bites each. We immediately contacted Charlie to let him know and unfortunately all he was concerned with was not writing this in our review. We highly recommended washing all the linens and to replace the mattresses and pillows so they would not infest further rooms or other traveler's luggage. We has 2 more hotels to visit and had to self launder all our clothes and towels, and tie them up in plastic bags so we would not infest the rest of our clothing nor hotels. this severely interrupted our travels and took weeks for our bites to heal.
The only good thing about this place was the location and the price, but you get what you pay for. Charlie was also helpful but when he seemed not to care about our bed bug complaint, we vowed never to come back for future trips. The breakfast is boxed pastries and cereal and packaged yogurt. The service nor conditions made up for bed bugs, I recommend going somewhere else.
Room had bed bugs and they did not seem to care when we reported it upon departure.

This review is totally false. The Hotel is 100% bed bug free. In reality, the clients were bitten by Tiger Mosquitos. Unfortunately, during the summer months Florence is infested by these insects. We always advise the clients not to open their windows. These clients obviously did not follow our recommendation. We apologise for any inconvenience to the customer, but, they should have taken our advice.
