We stayed at Casa di Barbano for 3 nights in June and it was a very nice experience...this quaint b&b is run by the ever smiling Moraq...the location is perfect close to the old city centre but also a comfortable walking from the santa maria novella station through the cobblestone roads...it is walking distance from most of the main sights such as the duomo/accademia/uffizzi but buses are also close by...the rooms are perfect for 2 and nicely done...the breakfast is filling...and the wireless is quite good...Moraq is one of the most helpful people we have come across during our stay in Italy...she helped us with our daily tour plans and special thanks to her for helping us with the planning of our Pisa trip (which you shouldn't miss)...she has a fantastic collection of books on florence and renaissance art and you will really need to browse them if you want to get a real feel of florence...
