We stumbled across this place by accident. The place doubles as a gluten-free restaurant which we visited while staying at Lucca. We noticed that they advertised rooms and we liked the location (beuatiful house in a quiet village just off the main Lucca-Pisa road) so we asked to see a room. The room was wonderful: bright, large, and very clean with a large balcony. Sitting on the balcony you had a view of the Tuscan countryside and the hills. Despite the fact that the rooms are above the restaurant there was no noise whatsoever. Finally, the staff was nice and helpful including a landlady that speaks some English. As far as I could understand, almost all the visitors that stay there are Italian. The price was much better than any of the places we stayed in or saw in Lucca itself and also offered better quality (70 Euro for two during October). You need a car but if you do have a car than it is an easy 5-10 minute drive from the center of Lucca. It is perfect for people who enjoy staying in the country but keep close to the city.
Bottom line, simply great value!
