Very rude staff (the first rude people we encountered during our 3 week trip).

TINY rooms and an even tinier bathrooms. I am a small person and couldn't even stand in the bathroom.

Old and dirty.

Its only good point: its very excellent location right by the tower and the Duomo.

I stayed here for 2 nights, choosing it mainly on it's proximity to the tower and dome. The noise in the square outside was an unwelcome interruption but the main gripe I would have was with the restaurant associated with the hotel. While the service charge was included in the bill they also decided to charge more for the wine than was printed on the menu. When we pointed this out to the waiter he said "it's only €3, this is very small" - while the amount may be small the principle of honesty is large. What was most surprising was that the exact same happened to diners at 2 tables beside us. It looks like there was a policy to try this with tourists as most are only passing through Pisa and this left a very unfavouable memory of the city.

We stayed there twice over the weekend. the first night the room was larger than the second night, both rooms were clean. View from the window both times was the leaning tower. There was a bus stop just across the Piazza to the railway station (No 4 bus) which took about 10 minutes. Excellent value for money and we would definately return.

I stayed here this past weekend, for just one night at the end of my vacation because I had a flight out of Pisa airport the next day. My first impressions of the hotel were great. The location (steps from the leaning tower, on a cute piazza) and overall look of the hotel were great and the price was very reasonable, especially given the fact that there was a festival that weekend.

When I first got into the room, I though it was really nice, if small -- but small was ok because it was just a single and it was for just the one night. Even the bathroom looked clean, if small (the bidet and toilet are practically touching so it's a tight fit), so I thought I'd really hit the jackpot.

Then I went to use the toilet and realized that not only had it not been cleaned, it had not even been flushed after its last use! A little later I went to use the mirror and saw that someone's plucked eyebrow hairs were splattered all over the wall.

After these discoveries I couldn't get comfy in the room. I wondered what else hadn't been cleaned. I considered sleeping on top of the covers, but checked the sheets and they looked more likely to have been recently cleaned than the bedspread so I made it through the night.

I would have really liked this hotel, if only it had been cleaner.
