This hotel is ideally located, just minutes away from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is a delightful small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We had room number 4 right at the top of the hotel, which was spacious, although the en-suite shower room was a little small but very clean. We ate at the Restaurant right next door to the hotel, which was excellent.

hard to fault really

we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and with the location in the very middle of Pisa, we had no problems walking around exploring this cosy town. We avoided the tourist restaurants around the corner and found excellent "local" real Italian places with good food, and where you felt half italian. The hotel can really be recommended as a base to explore Toscany with short distances to the major cities in Toscany.

My wife and stayed at the Francesco last week and really found the hotel ideal for visiting Pisa and touring Tuscany.

Yes the hotel is quite simple but it is very clean, it has a good a/c system and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. We stayed in Room 201 which is for disabled visitors. This gave us a good sized bathroom and access to the second floor terrace, 202 would do the same.

Unlike some others I do not think expensive for the location and vs other hotels in this area of town ( 2 min walk to the Leaning Tower and Field of Miracles). I also found the Internet connection ok and easy to connect to (unlike the previous reviewer).

So there is no breakfast there. There are a lot of small cafes nearby including one opposite and one two doors along. We tried both and they were really good value.

As to the Restaurant. Yep it closes some days and it is also quite expensive as it focuses on local food. Really not a big deal as so many restaurants nearby , I think the most we paid for the two of us was about £40 including wine. Cheaper Pizzas and Pastas available of course. Do not normally recommend restaurants as such an individual thing but heres a few we really liked.

Other things for people reading.

A bit of a walk to the station and main bus station(turn right and keep going) but no more than 30 mins for an average person and worth it as you will pass the main shopping streets !. Use public transport. It is good and cheap and you can get both train and bus times on the Internet so planning is easy.

One last thing. We found almost to our cost that although there are taxi ranks near the hotel they actually have to be called. There is also only one taxi company in Pisa. Ask the reception to call if you are nervous about using the automated calling system. If you are really worried use the Hotels shuttle service. Costs Euro 20 but avoids all the hassle.
