Our family (2 adults and 2 children of 15 and 11) spent 6 nights at this peaceful and relaxing hotel at the end of August.
We chose the hotel because it is within easy (10 minutes) walking distance of the old walled town and centre of San Gimignano but also offered the amenities of a swimming pool and garden.
The hotel is beautifully situated and the pool and gardens are extremely well maintained. Pool towels are provided and there is a very relaxing hydro-massage pool. The public rooms are very tastefully furnished and we were very pleased with our (front-facing) rooms which offered a beautiful view over the rolling Tuscan countryside and were kept at just the right temperature with the very efficient air conditioning.
We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning - this was nicely varied and included a good selection of cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cheese and ham, scrambled eggs, cakes and pastries etc. The hotel offers a light lunch menu but no evening meals. This was certainly not a problem as the hotel provided us with a very helpful list of recommended restaurants and all of those we tried were excellent.
Staff at the hotel were very helpful and obliging.
This hotel does not have the historic atmosphere of some of the hotels in the old medieval town but we found this was more than compensated for by its pretty location and the fact that we all really looked forward to relaxing by the pool after a morning's sightseeing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely return.
