I did not know what to expect from this booking on line and was most pleasantly surprized !

When we arrived we were greated by the owner, ALESSANDRO MARTELLI. He was extremely friendly and very helpful in everyway. Our accomodations were across the street in the
Rocca degli Olivi. Alessandro accompanied us across the street and checked us in over there. The accomodations were just remodeled and we found them to be very nice. The bathroom was modern with a wonderful shower! We were traveling with our 3 adult sons and had the whole house to ourselves. We found everything to be clean and in working order. The next morning breakfast (coffee, croissant, yogurt and ceral) was prepared and waiting for us on the patio overlooking the vineyards. The coffee cup was HUGE and delicious!!!!!!!

Alessandro spoke great english and was very very helpful with our questions. He sent us to a wonderful local restaurant where were were treated like family and the food and service were amazing. He also suggested a visit to a town above Pisa that day since it was our final destination.

We did not see the main house or the pool, so I cannot comment.

Our stay here was perfect!

lovely quiet hotel away from the crowds but five minute drive from the centre of san gimignano. Great views, quiet and very clean including a pristine swimming pool. Simple but great breakfast. Good friendly service. We will return!

This was my first visit to Tuscany and it was everything I imagined – and more! Casale del Cotone was the icing on the cake! It was absolutely prefect. Alessandro Martelli was the consummate host. Very friendly, helpful and charming. Our room was clean, comfortable and quite beautiful. My travel companions and I hated to leave and hope to return some day.

Il Casole del Cotone is the perfect place to experience Tuscany. Just outside the walls of San Gimignano, it is on a lovely hill surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. The view is breathtaking all around. The peaceful setting is enhanced by the charming and helpful innkeeper, Alessandro Martelli. This was my second stay here, and it just confirmed my warm feelings from the first. The room was spacious and comfortable with a large, lovely bathroom. While it was too cold for us to swim on this visit, the garden is lovely and the little chapel just sets it off. I would highly recommend this B&B as a place to settle in and make side trips all over Tuscany. It's placement is perfect.
