I have stayed here several times over recent years, because it is so well situated between Le Lac and the Gare Cornavin Station. It is down a side street as you walk down from the Station and its frontage is so narrow you can easily miss it. This time I stayed 15 and 16 March and had room 130 up a short flight of stairs at the side of the bar (no lift to this floor).
The hotel was very busy as my stay coincided with the Geneva Motor Show. Lots of people staying who appeared to be connected with motor industry. Room rates soar during this event and visits best avoided during first fortnight of March.
Room 130 was spacious with settee and desk, as well as wide comfy bed. Plenty of hanging space. Toilet with own washbasin separate from the bathroom with shower over the bath. Good range of toiletries and washcloths (but no toothpaste and brush). You needed to be agile to get into the bath, holding onto the towel rack.
The bar has plenty of chairs and enjoyed a flavourful glass of red wine on my first evening.
Breakfast in the basement is rather skimpy in what is offers. Coffee out of the Nespresso machine MUCH better than in the pot brought to table. Had much better elsewhere and CHF 36 is way over-priced.
I like the style of the hotel which has retained its old fashioned, elegant appearance but has modern facilities. There is free WIFI though I did not use it this time. There is an internet cabin but pricey (there is an internet cafe in a side street by the main post office which is much better value). Make sure you have a 6 sided 2pin adaptor in order to be sure of recharging mobile phone etc (my normal 2 pin would not make a full connection in any socket in the bedroom)
If you can get a duplex room on 8th floor, these are fun to stay in
