This hotel is close to the WTO, and UN. It took about 40 minutes to quickly walk to the old center. The room was very basic and the bed was not that comfortable. The bathroom looks like it had been recenlty redone and was small but beautiful and modern. Hairdryers are provided in the bathroom. The heating was not a problem. It was easy to take bus 28 to the airport which saved us from taking a cab.

I guess I stayed at the right time of year--I didn't have to deal with the previous poster's complaint of inadequate heating. The weather was perfect, so I didn't look to see the status of air conditioning or heating.

I stayed in room 142, which was a clean and spacious double. Strangely enough, the sink was in the room and the toilet and tub (with a handheld high-pressure shower head) in a separate room. No shampoo or bath soap provided, just a big bottle of shower gel.

If you want to hair dryer, you have to sign it out from the front desk, a practice I've never encountered before. There are umbrellas by the front door for guests to take on rainy days.

The hotel lobby is classy: beautiful and modern with lots of rich wood. The breakfast room was full of people every morning. I didn't spend time in the bar or the expensive restaurant. The staff were all very helpful.

What they call a business center is a corner of the lobby with a single computer attached to a (then) malfunctioning printer. Going on the Internet was free, but sometimes there's a long queue. There are no Internet cafes closer than 15-20-minute walks away.

The location is next to beautiful park-like areas (actually, they probably are parks) and close to UN buildings such as UNICEF. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the Pregny Gate of the main UN campus. It's also a 20-minute walk to the train station in the other direction. (This is important if you hate spending money on the overpriced taxis in Geneva.)

I was happy with my stay there. All in all, it's a nice hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The service and breakfast were quite good and the double room was large. However, the heating in all the rooms was very poor. For people who are unused to very cold weather, do not go to this hotel. One night was especially cold and most of our delegation had not slept well. The temperature regulators in all the rooms aren't modern and most couldn't even be regulated. It's actually a shame that the hotel had this problem because it's great in terms of proximity to the UN buildings and the WHO, WIPO etc.
