Having had our 10.30 pm flight cancelled, along with thousands of other travellers, we had to find a hotel for the night at the last minute! The taxi driver took us here and thankfully there were some rooms available. The hotel was lovely and the reception staff were helpful. The room was large, with tea and coffee making facilties, a bathrobe and slippers and a little box of chocolates, which was a lovely touch. The business suite has 3 computers, one of which has free internet access. The bar was open til midnight and then closed but the staff were happy to bring us drinks after this time. It would have been good to make use of the fitness suite etc but we had no time. Would stay here again.

I have stayed many times at the Epsom and the hotel offers a great experience in a super town

In particular the staff, as you woudl indeed expect in Switzerland are excellent particlulary at the front desk where they are at their very best in every way

The rooms are very comfortable with a great bathroom and shower and easy to acess Internet

The restaurant, though small is great for breakfast in particular and there are literally hundreds of good restaurants in Geneva for lunch and dinner

The hotel is well situated close to the lake but set back-which lowers the price of course-and overall very highly recommended

“Very pleasant stay”

Hotel Epsom

2 Apr 2008

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. On arrival the receptionist at the desk Frikita (not sure if that is the correct spelling of her name) greeted us. She was so professional and friendly and this was a great start to our weekend get away. She made suggestions each day of sites to see and places to eat. She seemed genuinely interested and asked if we enjoyed our outings. She was the nicest, most knowledgable and helpful receptionist I have ever met.

The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast was very nice. Tea and coffee are brought to the table promptly and the buffet had a very good selection. I thought it was expensive at 30 sw francs per person, but you are paying 4 star hotel prices.

The only down side was a pair of ear rings that went missing from my friend's room. She reported this to reception who tried to be helpful.

Geneva is a lovely city and everyone we met was very nice. I would highly recommend Epsm Hotel and Geneva.

Very nice business class hotel in a decent area not far from the lake although a good half hour walk to the older and more interesting part of town. That said, we found some perfectly good restaurants and bars not far away, plus a Ferrari dealer on the corner so that was convenient!
Hotel itself is modern, comfortable, very friendly and helpful with the big plus of free wifi. The hotels restaurant is excellent with a most interesting menu and although nouvelle cuisine is the style (i.e. small portions!) the quality of ingredients and presentation was 5 star standard.
More a hotel for business travellers.

“Not a 4 star hotel”

4/6 found this review helpful

Despite paying for a double bed, there were none available and we had to put up with 2 single beds pushed together.

The 'lake view' rooms which you pay more for, are all smoking rooms, which is highly unsatisfactory if you are a non smoker.

There was no concierge/house keeping, just 1 person at reception who had limited knowledge of tourist attractions.

There was no iron in the room. You had to go to either floor 2 or 6 where the ironing board and iron was located in a cupboard in the hall way.

There were only 2 towels and 2 pillows per room. No extra ones - as is custom with 4 star hotels.

In summary the facilities were poor and not what we would expect from a 4 star hotel
