“Great Hotel”

Warwick Hotel

24 Jun 2008

I stayed here for one night and really enjoyed my stay. The staff were extremely courteous and polite. The room was spacious and had some really cool touches such as the coffee machine (why don't all hotels have one?) and complimentary chocolates. I did not have a room facing the lake but did not need one as I had spent a couple of days in Lausanne previously. I liked the "cosiness" of the hotel and I must say it is very rare but I had no complaints whatsoever and I would come here again if I stayed in Geneva. Congratulations to the hotel for maintaining such a good level of service!

“Central location”

Warwick Hotel

14 Jun 2008

This hotel has the best location, on the opposite side of the road from the central train station. Extremely easy to find and 5 mins walk to the lake. It could not be more convenient.

The outside of the hotel was dated and grubby, but inside was a real surprise, considering the reasonable price. The room was clean and bathroom had all facilities.

We had a room on the street, but we weren't disturbed by the road noise at all. The air con worked well, had a nice flat screen TV and all business access points.

The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. The food was really good value and delicious. We'd definitely recommend the restaurant.

“Recommended for business travellers”

Warwick Hotel

Warwick is one of my favourite hotels in Geneva. The location is is very central. Staff is very good, and the rooms are clean and have a nice flat screen tv. Last time I stayed there I forgot my charger of my cell phone. They called me and kept it until 2 months after when I returned to Geneva.

“Not quite up to expectations, but good service”

We looked for a hotel near the lake, as the hotels at the airport were completely booked (a rarity). My corporate agent said that the Warwick was a solid 4-star hotel. That seemed a higher rating than I would have given, as it appeared much more to be a standard travellers hotel. It was very much what you would expect from a hotel directly across from a major train station. The surrounding area was not particularly nice, especially after dark, and late night parking was not easy. The check-in was efficient and the night desk person was friendly and helpful. The room was clean but dated, and it had no clock (infuriating for a travel hotel). The website shows a picture overlooking the lake, so I was disappointed to find the hotel facing the train station on the busiest road in Geneva. Noise was not a problem, as you would expect staying in Geneva. Given the price and location, I would probably stay in the Cristal, which may have smaller rooms, but is in pretty much the same location, also has wifi and a decent restaurant, includes breakfast and a train transfer to the airport and is generally much less expensive.

My mom and I were in Geneva in September and we stayed here. First off, we are considered "budget travelers," meaning I do not expect to get a luxury hotel when I travel, as I am looking for a reasonable rate, since I tend not to stay in my hotel that much when on vacation.

That being said, this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The common areas were very clean and decorated in an attractive manner. The room was a tad on the small side, not too much room for the two large suitcases, but we made due and it was fine...no complaints. The room was clean and in good condition. The bath was very nice with marble tile. Location is good right next to train station and walking distance to old town and lake. We were in Switerland/Austria for two weeks, and this was one of the better hotels we stayed in. I could not hear anything from the road at night, and we were above the main street.

I don't have pictures, sorry to say...If you are a budget conscious traveler and don't want hostels but don't have ridiculous expectations, this will be a decent choice for you.
