This hotel was exactly what I expected: a mediocre 3-star (4 stars is a joke) in a very good location in Luzern. I used Choice Hotel reward points to pay for my stay, saving myself a very hefty hotel tab in Luzern (Luzern is a particularly expensive city in an expensive country).
Rooms are small (typical of Europe) and reasonably but not stylishly furnished. Beds and bathroom were OK. Noise would have been a problem at night, but the hotel had electric shutters that you could close and elminate most city noise issues.
Hotel is about a 3 minute walk to the Reuss River and the famous covered bridge. It would be hard to get more central! Parking is not a problem, as the hotel can sell you a pass for affordable overnight metered parking around the corner.
Breakfast is typical 3-star German-style fare. Adequate bread and meats, cereals and yogurt, no hot foods.
Overall, I wouldn't feel good paying a lot of money for this hotel, but it will do the trick for a Luzern overnight. You may want to think of visiting the city for a few hours and then staying elsewhere, like in the countryside. It may be sacreligious to say, but I think Luzern is a bit overrated. Once you've seen and walked the river area, you may be ready to leave. Given the high prices in Switzerland, Swiss urban life isn't all that appealing. Hard to imagine any American going shopping, for example.
