We have just returned from a five night stay over New Year and enjoyed Davos very much. We have stayed at this family run hotel for the past five years, usually with our daughter, son in law and small granddaughter. The hotel is wonderful- with excellent food, warm and welcoming staff and family friendly.with meals for babies and children available , and good creche and baby listening service. However, in the last two years the young couple of the family have taken over the running of the Hotel, and the balance of the visitor experience has altered. If you look at the hotel website it emphasises the relaxed, elegant dining experience,. This is no longer accurate. If you want to sit in the candle lit dining room enjoying a quiet, excellent meal followed by a relaxing drink and coffee in the lounge with firstclass live music ,you need to add in the distraction of a dining room with babies in highchairs and small children dominating the evening, and then running around the lounge area after the meal. If you are a family who enjoy this , this hotel is perfect. If you want your children, and other people's children, safely tucked up , so you can enjoy a relaxed 'adult' evening, you will be better off somewhere else....

This is a good choice for a summer stay in Davos. The staff are friendly and efficient, and very helpful with advice on the area and public transport details. The hotel is centrally located in Davos Platz (not to be confused with Davos Dorf a mile down the road, with a separate train station) It is only a short walk from the station, or bus stop, or funicular, or the casino and the local bus routes are free to registered visitors in the summer. Ask for the hotel minibus if you arrive at the station with luggage, it isn't far, but it is uphill.
The food is very good, and the Gala Dinner Buffet, that happened while we were staying, was exceptional.
One warning for light sleepers: keep your windows closed at night, since the nearby clock tower chimes on the quarters throughout the night.

I've been lucky enough to spend a number of stays at this hotel... I just love it and haven't found a place that can compare. Very much a family hotel. Modern building (not typically Swiss), but beautiful inside, excellent spacious bedrooms with all comforts (tv, minibar, full bathroom, safe, phone, radio, internet connection). Nice lounge with live music every afternoon and night (piano). Incredible restaurant... best food! Cosy little bar. Indoor swimming pool, saunas etc. Extremely attentive staff. It's hard to define what it is that this hotel actually has that makes it so special, but I've spent my happiest hotel stays in the Morosani Schweizerhof in Davos.
