Great location on the main square. Bars, restaurants nearby. Corviglia funicular just a few steps. Wonderful snow in April.

Jan 5 2005 After missing trains all day arrived late for last rooms. 2 children given smoking room on 1st floor and us next to reception on ground floor immediately above restuarant. They said even though booked as family of 4 this could have been four adults. Also even though we booked interconnecting rooms which they advertised as having they only had 2 and one was being used by long term guest! They said our room was near the stairs so easy for our children to go between rooms. Problem the stairs were next to reception so they had to go past in pj's. Shower rose fell off while wife in bath. They said plumber couldn't get right partearlier in week. They started cleaning restuarant at 6.00 am and we heard it all - after the band stopped playing at 1:00am. Owner very arrogant (though with a grin on face)and said what do we expect for a 3 star room and the price they charge, thus no compensation or any thing FOC. We travelled all round Europe and stayed at good accommodation and when problems the management were accommodating. Not here! Restuarant food was very good though as was typical for St Moritz very pricey. In end childrens room was good just ours was not saleable - only if they paid you!

We have just returned from a skiing trip to St Moritz. We stayed at the Hauser because of its central location, only a few minutes walk to the ski lift. The accommodation is basic, but clean and comfortable. We had a view of the mountains from our room. My only complaint was that there was no mini bar/fridge as promised in the offer that we received from the Hauser. We also had some sleep disruption due to traffic and (drunk) people noise. The service offered by Marcus and Marinda and the staff at the Hauser is excellent. They are always friendly and helpful. At about AUD $380 per day for accommodation, breakfast and lift passes for 2 people, it is excellent value.

First the pluses. Service at reception and the restaurant was friendly, we had a clean, comfortable and nicely-furnished room, breakfast was good and plentiful and free internet access was available in the guest lounge.
But what became of the views that we saw on the hotel's web site? If we pressed our faces to the side of the window, we did manage to catch a glimpse of the mountains, but nothing like what we had been led to expect. We learned later that you had to be outside to get those views. We also found that the much vaunted cakes and pastries that were the hotel's speciality did not live up to their promise or their price.
All in all, a pleasant if expensive stay.
