With all the wonderful things to see and do in Amsterdam, this definitely was atop my list of highlights. Peter limits the group to 5-7 people, perfect for not only interacting with Peter himself but with all other members of the tour. And frankly, this is not your average tour. Members of my group were knowledgeable, curious and challenging and the questions flowed. Peter could not have been more informative - interested in our individual backgrounds and anxious to share his extensive knowledge of the history of the Netherlands during the war years. This is a walking tour; we did not enter any of the museums themselves (e.g. the Resistence Museum). But what a tour! I thought I had identified for myself all WWII sites of any importance. I was wrong. He took us along the Amstel and translated for us the memorial in the sidewalk to orphans who were sent to concentration camps; he showed us the memorial to deaf children who faced a similar fate; he took us to the park that's home to a memorial of 6 broken mirrors, in memory of 6MM dead, reflecting the sky above. Days after the tour he e-mailed each of us additional reading material that provided further information. For anyone interested in WWII history, I would put this tour in a Do Not Miss category.
