We chose this place based on it's close proximity to the train station, reasonable price and good advance communication with the owner.
It didn't disappoint. Because of a cat allergy, we chose one of the two upstairs rooms with a shared bath. We were told that the cats don't go upstairs. Since we shared the bath with only one other party there wasn't a problem with access to the bathroom which was large, modern, and clean. For these two rooms, there is a self service breakfast kitchen. There is an additional toilet one floor down, near the kitchen. The bathroom was cleaned daily
The room was up three steep flights of stairs (a drawback for those who can't climb stairs or have a fear of hights). It was very comfortable, spacious, interestingly furnished, with windows looking out to the street. I did notice that no one came into the room to tidy up at any point during our two night stay. If we wanted the bed made, we had to make it ourselves. Breakfast is offered in a pleasant kitchen on the second floor. All the ingredients for an ample repast are set up at midnight, the night before, and we could help ourselves to juice, cereals, bread, pastries, eggs, fruit, cheese, meat and coffee (the kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, frige, toaster, espresso machine). We could get up and eat whenever we wanted. It was nice to have this freedom.
Wimo, one of the hosts, is a tour guide and is helpful with advice on what to do in the city. Both Wimo and Goddard are charming, welcoming, and helpful. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place for those who like something a little unconventional.
