This small gem of a restaurant is tucked away behind the Church directly at the Dam square. So if you are in town and happen to look for a lunch place that offers lunch and allows you to get away from all the tourist hordes, you should try Sie Joe.
As said in earlier reviews this is really a cozy little family restaurant run by Indonesians who simply cook the kind of food that the people eat on a normal day in Indonesia. Nothing fancy but simple classics prepared with love. My personal favorite is Nasi Kambing (Rice with goat meat) but I also often order their excellent Soto Ayam (Chicken Soup). My family is half Indonesian and they like the food from here. I am often asked to bring some take away home since I work close to the Dam.
If you go here please be aware that this is a lunch restaurant. They close at 7pm.
