We went to this restaurant twice during our recent trip to Amsterdam. It was far and away the best restaurant we found there.
On our first visit I had the terrine followed by the Indonesian chicken and my husband had clams (actually, I'm pretty sure they were mussels but very tasty anyway) and the lamb shank. Everything was delicious. My husband tasted my chicken and couldn't put the fork down. There were five drumsticks on the plate so plenty to share.
When we returned (on a Friday night), we had to wait a bit for a table but they gave us a drink and quickly cleared a table as soon as someone left. My husband was determined to have the mussels and the chicken. He was crazy about the chicken, interestingly there were only two or three drumsticks on a different shaped plate than the one we'd been served earlier in the week. There was plent for him but interesting to note that you may get more mid week. I had the steak and strawberry because I was intrigued by the combination. Still not sure that it works but the steak was cooked just how I asked for it.
I certainly wouldn't miss visiting this restaurant on a visit to Amsterdam. The service was friendly and pretty prompt. We didn't have any problems getting more drinks as others have had. Go midweek!
