We stayed here for the first time last November. Basically we were looking for a hotel that catered well for Disabled customers. We were not put in a disabled room, but in a comfort room.
The room was very spacious and well appointed. TV and Tea and Coffee facility. Decor is quite dark, but tastfully done. The room also had a safe, which is very useful. The bathroom was large, with a huge bath, and a separate shower area. The toilet is separate again from the bathroom, which again is very convenient. The room was more than adaquate and ideal for wheelchair access. I can only imagine how large the actual disabled rooms are.
The corridors are wide, and the ground floor had a vending machine. The bar is very nice, with good service.
Breakfast was plentiful, with continental through to full English.
Evening meals from a somewhat limited menu, were good value, and service was good.
All the staff we spoke to were very efficient and helpful, and the rooms were made up every morning.
The location is the only down side, being on the outskirts of Middelburg. However it is only a short taxi ride away. The area is under development, and may improve over the coming years.
We were over in Middelburg for the celebrations of the Liberation in 1944, in which my father took part. The hotel staff presented him with a message thanking him for his bravery, which was an unexpected but very nice touch.
