The employees at Forte Amigo Hotel works to please everyone. I had the opportunity to see two days during our stay there. I loved the olives that accompanied the drinks at the bar/lounge, aside from the strawberries and medley of peanuts. The fresh olives were out of this world! They kept on bringing out more and more as I couldn't stop eating them. After inquiring about purchasing them, they brought it to me after my dinnner in the dining room. The olives were in a tub container, all ready. I brought it all the way home to Bermuda.

I loved their complimentary slippers. They were made of quality material. I asked one of the room service attendents if I could purchase 5 pairs. The next day, after my husband and I came back after our tour of Brussels, the 5 pairs of slippers came in a hotel gift bag with a card attached. Not sure if they were charged to our room since I did not check our bill to make sure.

The concierge was awesome. Whatever I asked, they were able to make all the travel and restaurant arrangements.

The dining room waiters/servers were great to make me feel comfortable. The front desk personnel were all terrific too.

Definitely will stay there again. Great experience overall and probably the best service ever!! Bravo to Amigo Hotel!!!

Clean but small rooms. Excellent location. I stayed one week and paid 200 Euros per night (breakfast was NOT included in the price).

The gym is smallish but covers the basic needs. I was confirmed for a room with two beds but got a single king size bed instead.

You can hear the street noise at night time - I was on the 3rd floor. It is best if you put the "do not disturb" sign on the door if you need some privacy or the staff will be constantly bothering you - i.e. in my case it was chocolate gift from the management than the cleaning lady a couple of times per day.

I ordered a taxi and it took 25 minutes until it arrived. While I was waiting with a colleague of mine, outside the hotel, a cab stopped on the street and offered to pick us. We were about to board when a hotel staff forcefully waved the driver and prevented us from boarding. I understand that the hotel is protecting its business but the staff should have shown more understanding in this case.

Overall, the hotel Amigo deserves 3 1/2 or 4 star but in my opinion lacks the subtle fines of a true 5 star hotel.

“Great for meetings”

We used Hotel Amigo for a day meeting we hosted in one of their meeting rooms on Jan 10. Overall we were very pleased with everything the hotel had to offer--from the staff to the location. We offered the special rate to our guests and 3/4 of them chose to stay at the Hotel Amigo.

The moment we checked in, the guest relations officer Thomas sprang up to introduce himself to myself--the project director of the meeting. The staff at the reception were friendly and courteous and very efficient. The staff escorted us to the room to show us how to open the door (helpful because there was a small trick to it).

The concierge was very helpful in giving us directions to the places we wanted to visit by foot and by metro. Also, they were great in recommending places to dine--both for just the two of us and also for the group dinner.

The meeting rooms Herge A and B (the divider is removable) have low ceilings but great for a small group of 12-14 people. The break foods and the light lunch I had chosen from the menu were great. We had lunch served at Horta room in the Mezzanine level and that was great. For the afternoon break we had delicious belgium waffles, chocolates and ginger bread (from the famous Danadoy..one store is just outside the Amigo).

The location of the Hotel Amigo couldn't be better--just a block from the Grand Place, a hop skip and jump to great restaurants including the NY Times recommended restaurant Aux Armes de Bruxelles and bars Roy d'Espagne and Group Le Foil. Also the Mannequin Pis is just 4 blocks from the hotel and so is the Place Sablon with its famous Choclatier Pierre Marcolini.

This is a very nice hotel, where everything has been thought of. The receptionists were friendly and efficient and there were more doormen than come hotels have staff!

Our room on the 5th floor was a good size, very tastefully decorated and very well laid out. The slight downside is that street noise was quite loud at night.

Location wise, this is perfect for tourist Brussels, backing onto the Town hall and the Grand place, and surrounded by bars

Overall this is an excellent hotel, if I am being picky that it also its problem, it is a little too clinical and perfect and maybe lacks a little charm, but you could do a lot worse than stay here

“Excellent business hotel, perfect for our honeymoon too”

Rocco Forte Hotel Amigo

8 Jan 2008

Second hotel on our honeymoon trail.
Got upgraded to a next level room (we booked months ahead and got the cheapest deluxe room). Top floor (I think 5th).
Apparently recently revamped hotel.
Pretty good check-in, realized it's our honeymoon straightaway. Personalized, shown the room by a very helpful manager Thomas. Top bloke.
Room was new, good size, nice king bed, with rooftop view of the grand place. Very nice bathroom. Arguably best or second best amongst our hotels. Clean, nice shower pressure, reasonable (unknown branded) amenities.
No iron board. 8 Euro for a shirt I think.
Corridor a bit dated. Hotel lobby a bit small too.

Must be perfect for a business hotel. Great very prompt service and courteous too.

Concierge advice reasonable too.
As for a romantic getaway, I'd come back too. The location is perfect, just next to Grand Place. Walkable to shopping, monuments etc. Looked at other hotels, Hilton etc, wasn't impressed.
