“Another amazing Rocco”

Rocco Forte Hotel Amigo

The Amigo, like the other three or four Rocco Forte hotels I have been at in the last three weeks is amazing.

We were greeted at the entrance by the Guest Services manager and she escorted us directly to our rooms.

The doormen are courteous, the concierge is very informed, the in-room dining team is so polite and managed to trolley in my dinner over a mountain of laundry and suitcases.

The hotel is located next to the Cathedral and The Palace.

The bed is very comfortable.

Telephone is slightly cryptic - but whatever.

The 24 EUR cheeseburger is really good and almost worth 24 EUR.

“Wonderful getaway”

Rocco Forte Hotel Amigo

We stayed at the Amigo 10-12 March 2007 at the start of a week-long vacation/business trip to Belgium. We could not have been happier with our stay. The room, hotel amenities and terrific service we encountered contribute to our giving this hotel high marks.

We arrived a few hours before check-in. Our room was not yet available. Staff at reception and bell men were very accomodating in checking us in, holding our luggage while we toured Grand Place and delivering the luggage to the room once it was available. We were made to feel very welcome despite our early arrival. We had the same positive experience at check out.

We used concierge service (both day and evening shift gentlemen) to recommend and make dinner reservations at 2 restaurants during our stay. Their service was impeccable and the restaurants they recommended were superb. Concierges were also very helpful in answering what questions we had and providing maps and directions to places of interest.

We had coffee and snacks in the hotel bar. Service was professional and very friendly. We were also satisfied with the snacks and drinks. The same can be said of room service.

Our room was lovely - very comfortable, quiet , with nice amenities including comfortable beds and sheets. Bathrooms were very well appointed and maintained.

I have 2 disappointments. The first is the outrageous cost of Internet service. I needed to send email to work. I used the service for no more than 2 hours (I believe it was quite a bit less) on the morning we departed. The hotel charges 20 Euro for 24 hours. This is highway robbery, especially in a 5 star hotel. If the hotel must make money on this service, at least offer some less expensive options such as an hourly rate for those people like me who need a brief log in.

My other disappointment is the high cost of breakfast. A petit dejeuner included with the room rate would make the hotel an even better choice for travellers.

We thoroughly enjoyed all of interactions with courteous, professional hotel staff and our comfortable room. I would definitely stay at Amigo again and highly recommend it.

“Great location, lovely hotel”

Had a lovely short stay at the Amigo to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel is perfectly located a short walk from the main square. If you want to visit the town centre then this is the place to stay.

We had adjoining rooms with our children and the staff could not have been more attentive. We had breakfast in our room both days and this was a real treat. We ate out each night, at places recommended by the concierge which were very good.

There is not that much to do in Brussels and our three days were enough.
