As a frequent guest(s), both as a business man and leisure traveller throughout the world, I have many times stayed at Radisson Hotels. For this trip we had an obvious choice for the Radisson Blu Royal hotel (downtown). Our expectations were for sure met in regards to the hotel itself.
Staff is most friendly, relaxed, willing to assist in all possible ways. This is what makes this particular hotel different from other places we (me and my spouse) have stayed before. The rooms themselves are clean, good bedding ... however, they are not up to todays standards. A complete refurbishment would attract even more business ... these days one has to keep up with the competitors ... which obviously means investing in refurbishments and renovations. We would have loved dining at the Sea Grill restaurant. When browsing to the hotel's webpage, which is most clear, we saw that the Sea Grill was closed during our vacation stay. As we were pleasantly informed by one of your staff members, my spouse and myself were informed that the restaurant is now managed by the Executive Chef Mr Mattagne. For a 2* ranked restaurant, one would expect to have the possibility to have a look at their website. To our surprise this does not seem the case (site under construction). It makes one wonder whether this restaurant has a true desire and wish to keep up with their ranking in the Michelin guide. For sure it is not up to qualifications, and it would not come as a suprise if the ranking will be reviewed by the professional restaurant guides. Nevertheless, we truly enjoyed our short escape to Brussels and will stay loyal to our so much appreciated Radisson hotels. All our congratulations to your wonderful staff.
