I Stayed In This Hotel For Two Night WIth My Mum! We Had An Amazing Time! It Was Bank Holiday Weekend & We Took Travellers Cheques Across With Us But Our Hotel Didn't Know The Current Exchange Rate So We Had No Money! They Put Out All The Stops To Help Us Though! They Offered To Lend Us Some Money & Gave Us A Map Highlighting The Way We Needed To Go! Sadly When We Was Away My Mum Was Taken Ill & Was Unable To Get Up On Our Last Night! The Room Service Wasn't On Because It Being Bank Holiday & Yet Again They Helped The Best They Could!!! They Ordered Us A Pizza & Went & Collected It For Us Free Of Charge! The Hotel Staff Were Lovely & So Friendly! It Was A Lovely Stay!! The Photos Are Just Like The Hotel! Breakfast Is Amazing! There Is So Much To Choose From & It Was All Very Nice! Thanks!

My wife and I have traveled to Europe the past three Winters for inexpensive extended weekends in London, Paris and Brussels. We do not mind roughing it with cheaper hotels to spend allocated funds on food and entertainment. What a pleasant surprise to stay in such a wonderful hotel at reasonable rates. The location was perfect, close enough to all the tourist sights to walk and far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of an upscale neighborhood. The hotel staff were everything that Trip Advisor reviews claimed, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and kept us going (with a waffle or frittes on the run) until dinner. I hope we can stay at this hotel again if we're lucky enough to be back in Brussels. The county, people, sights and food make Belgium a wonderful place to visit.

“Perfect stay in Brussels”

Sercotel Izan Avenue Louise

Wanted to go away for a bit before Christmas and thought Brussels would be perfect for the Christmas Market. After booking a train with Eurostar, looked on Tripadvisor for a hotel (as I always do) and came across this absolute cracker of a hotel. Taking all the reviews on board, I made a reservation through Booking.com and got a great deal at about £50pn for a double room.

The room itself (301) was very nice and spaceous with a "hallway" with a wardrobe for coats, shoes etc with an electronic safe for valuables. The room was a generous size with a large window (which didn't look out onto much) and a double bed (which was discovered to be two singles attached, but no matter). There was a TV, satellite, mini bar and all the nice little pleasantaries like welcoming sweets, choice of pillows and stationary. Decorated nicely in a classical style with elegant furniture and paintings on the walls and plenty of light.

The bathroom was very nice, tiled top to bottom in marble and granite with a lovely complementary bathroom kit you wouldn't be ashamed to give as a gift. It was small though, not enough space to even bring a cat in, but all the features were in there and it was nice and clean and shiny.

The hotel itself doesn't have a huge range of facilities (despite being a supposed 4*) but the conciege were always pleasant and helpful especially when we checked in by letting us know where things were and how we'd like to get around. Breakfast was included with our room so we ate a buffet of the usual continental foods with cold cuts, fresh bread, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals and pasteries. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate always on the go; the waitress was more than helpful. An A la carte menu is available too for additional cooked items as well as a rather splendid room service menu (if not a bit expensive). At 22 Euros for breakfast, I wouldn't pay it as it does seem quite expensive and can be found after taking a short walk into the city.

Located in the 1000 district, it is really close to the major attractions with the high-class shopping right at the doorstep. but nice and peaceful at night. The Metro station is 8min walk away in a straight line which will take you to all the places really quickly (and no-one seems to care if you buy a ticket or not) so take full advantage of it but you can walk your way around in a few hours.

In summary, a wonderful trip away and an absolute steal of a hotel if you get a good deal and would definitely go back if things keep up.

We chose this hotel mainly for the location, but also because tripAdvisor rated it quite highly overall, and the price was right. We would have liked breakfast included, but it is expensive at 22 euros extra, so we took advice from the front desk and walked across Avenue Louise to Pain Quotidien, which was lovely, and half the price. The room was large and comfortable, but it did smell of smoke. They brought some air freshener, which masked it. The marble bathroom was a bit small, but the complementary toiletries were very nice. The staircase is spiral and a tight squeeze. There is a lift though. The staff were very helpful and prompt.

“Loved this hotel”

Sercotel Izan Avenue Louise

We enjoyed this hotel very much despite some of the comments on this site. I always check our hotels through trip advisor when the agent gives us the name. We were reluctant, but it was a very nice hotel with a great staff. The breakfast we had included. It was the best breakfast we had out of the 3 hotels we had.
We were allowed to check in early so we dropped of our luggage and off we went to explore. Our only problem was our fault, staying out so late without knowing when the buses run to get back to the area since it is too far to walk, especially when you are walking around from site to site. We loved the hotel and would definately go back. The staff was great. I don't know if it would work very well for people that didn't like or couldn't walk a lot or take a taxi each time you went site seeing. We were able to see most of Brussels the first day. I would STRONGLY suggest a day trip to Brugge and Ghent. Brugge was our favorite. I don't think you would be disappointed at this hotel unless you are extremely fussy.
