This was the worst hotel night we've ever had. We originally booked at the Hotel Arlequin around the corner, but were moved because of some flooding. The rest of party had a much better experience at the Arlequin. The window frames were being held up with wood planks and the amenities were scarce.
We were unlucky enough to get one of the rooms facing the street (room 103)...directly across from the night club Versailles. The room stunk like cigarettes and we were inundated with the thumping of deep bass from the nightclub, smashing bottles, people, and sirens until 5am!! The drapes were insufficient at blocking the bright neon flashing sign. There were apparently no other rooms left.
On the bright side, the room was of normal size, fairly clean, and the bed wasn't bad. The breakfast was decent, a little more than the typical European roll with meat and cheese. The staff was adequate and location was too close to things, unless you are a night owl partier.
There is no parking. GPS didn't know the Grasmarkt street was pedestrian only. We parked in the Grand Place parking garage for 14 Euro/day and walked our luggage down the street blocked to cars. The road directly in front of the hotel is open to traffic, and cars were parked there, but it cost 34 Euro/day, probably much more with the likelyhood of damage.
Our other friends in the same hotel had a slightly better time not facing the main road. Avoid this dump and street facing rooms at all costs!!!
