Once again I have stayed in this lovely hotel, as I always do on my visits to Brussels. This time it was a short stay of two nights but still very good. The hotel has undergone renovations and is now looking more fresh, not that it ever looked bad. The furniture is new and so are the carpets. One thing that hasn't changed (and it is in no need of changing) is the very good service you get in this 3 star hotel. When you think of star ratings they usualy reffer to the amenities, so just to put things in order: this 3 star hotel has a 5 star level of service. OK, they won't take your luggage to your room but that's because 3 star hotels don't have bellboys but they will do anything they can to make your stay pleasant and always with a smile.
The rooms are not very large, but not tiny either. The renovation has made them very nice, as I mentioned.
Breakfast is served as a buffet and is ample. You will find eggs, various types of bread, cheese, cold meat, some warm dish and yoghurts. They have some cereals as well as juice and warm drinks.
If you are sensative to noise you should ask for a room facing the rear of the hotel, so the traffic won't bother you.
I strongly recommend this hotel, I have stayed in the Astrid for so many times and have yet to be dissapointed!
Visit Brussels, it's a very nice city retreat, and stay at the Astrid for a great location and wonderful service.
