Once again I have stayed in this lovely hotel, as I always do on my visits to Brussels. This time it was a short stay of two nights but still very good. The hotel has undergone renovations and is now looking more fresh, not that it ever looked bad. The furniture is new and so are the carpets. One thing that hasn't changed (and it is in no need of changing) is the very good service you get in this 3 star hotel. When you think of star ratings they usualy reffer to the amenities, so just to put things in order: this 3 star hotel has a 5 star level of service. OK, they won't take your luggage to your room but that's because 3 star hotels don't have bellboys but they will do anything they can to make your stay pleasant and always with a smile.
The rooms are not very large, but not tiny either. The renovation has made them very nice, as I mentioned.
Breakfast is served as a buffet and is ample. You will find eggs, various types of bread, cheese, cold meat, some warm dish and yoghurts. They have some cereals as well as juice and warm drinks.
If you are sensative to noise you should ask for a room facing the rear of the hotel, so the traffic won't bother you.
I strongly recommend this hotel, I have stayed in the Astrid for so many times and have yet to be dissapointed!
Visit Brussels, it's a very nice city retreat, and stay at the Astrid for a great location and wonderful service.

“Poor value”

This hotel is well located: easy walk to Grand Place, major shopping areas and the Metro. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
However, for the price, the hotel seems somewhat tired and outdated...definitely in need of renovation. The room we had was very small. We needed to move chairs for sitting to watch the TV and then again to access the bed. TV selection was very limited for english-only speakers, as they provide only one english language TV station (BBC).
All in all, it seemed adequate but overpriced, definitely not a good value.

This hotel was at good location. But I was in schock, when I saw the price for one night (twin room for 230eur / night)... But comfort was not at all for that price!!!
Room was clean, breakfeast nice, but beds were horrible...:-'( WiFi connection at room was very expensive (3eur for 15minutes).

“Just Fantastic!”

Me and my girlfriend just come back today from Brussels. We stayed at the Astrid Centre Hotel. We both honestly thought it was fantastic! I will explain everything about the hotel.

The Location is superb, your literally in the centre of Brussels - 5 Minute Walk from main Lively area with shops/restaurants/bars etc!

The room was very nice and neatly laid out. 2 single beds are pushed together, rooms are cleaned EVERYDAY, change of towels, soaps, bath gel, shower hats etc. The view is nice looking towards the City Centre, we were on the 6th Floor - The biggest room in the Hotel!
You get good space to hang up clothing, small TV (French only), big dressing table, 2 small draws beside each bed, nice shower and bath which was nicely tiled, clean and bright!

The breakfast included is really nice, you have a choice of fried eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, pastas, beans, mushrooms, croissants, chocolate spread, honey, jams, coffee, tea, hot milk (cafe latte), fruit juices and cereals.

The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. No problems at all with the hotel.

Take my advice, stay at the Astrid Centre Hotel. We enjoyed every minute there. Was very comfortable (thank god)! Oh and hot water is not a problem either. We had a fantastic stay here so i am sure you would too!

As for Brussels, it's you to decide what you think but it is one of the most beatiful cities i've ever seen! I love the way it mixes the "oldie Worldie" with the New modern parts! No trouble with anybody, loads of restaurants, good tram service and quite a lot of bars - mainly restaurants though! Oh and lots of Waffle/crepe places too!

“Excellent Value”

Astrid Centre Hotel Brussels

Having read various reviews concerning the Hotel Astrid I wasn't sure quite what to expect. What I found was excellent.

The hotel is bright, fresh and clean. It is run efficiently and the room to which my wife I were allocated was ideal. The bathroom was immaculate, with bath towels and hand towels replaced daily. The bedroom was clean and modern. There was a TV with access to about 40 channels, two of which were English speaking. The twin beds were comfortable and the room service was extremely good.

The 'American breakfast' was delicious. The choice of breads and rolls was impressive and the selection of tasty jams and spreads was superb. Cereals, eggs and cheeses were all available and the dining room itself was a lovely place to eat.

Staff were courteous and helpful.

Furthermore, the Astrid is ideally located, just yards from a main thoroughfare, yet sufficiently far as to hear little or no traffic noise. The hotel can be easily found from the De Brouckere metro/tram station. On reaching ground level, walk towards the square where the main road forks on either side of a large building boasting a large coca cola sign. As you head in this direction look left down the side streets until you see the Astrid. The hotel can be difficult to find from the Sainte Catherine metro station even although it is only a short walk away.

I would strongly recomment the Hotel Astrid to anyone contemplating visiting the Belgian capital and would have no hesitation staying there in the future. It represents great value for money.
