“Bargain Break”

Booked the break via Eurostar, a good package for 3 nights. To attend a concert at the football stadium. (note: the metro does not run after about midnight)

Reception was very polite and helpful with directions and a map of Brussels provided.
Room was good, clean, fresh, air conditioned (which you could control), comfortable bed, bathroom you could swing a cat in, and towels that covered my ample body. Mini bar, TV so we could watch Dr Who, and also an Iron.

Took advice of previous reviews, used the 4 euro metro card for the two of us as it was the weekend, so we hopped on and off the metro where ever we wanted. Eat in Luxembourg Square on the first night (from front door turn right, short walk), and then in the Hotel Saturday night (no buffet weekends). We didn't have breakfast, as we don’t do breakfast, free internet connection helped us to find various areas on our lappy and plan our days, (and the nearest Pizza Hut :-) ) It’s not in the middle of nowhere, but its not on a high street, a short walk to Troon metro gives you full access to Brussels.

Bit short on Caffeine Coffee in the room, if its your Fix, take some of your own.

“Can't fault this hotel at all!”

Radisson SAS EU Hotel Brussels

I'd booked this hotel as part of a Eurostar package in March and got a great rate of £96pp for four days and three nights. I'd been to Brussels the previous year and stayed near the Grand Place at the 'NH Grand Place Arenburg'. Although the location of the Radisson is slightly out of the main tourist drag, Brussels transport system is so easy to use that staying here was actually preferred.

My sister and I followed the advice of previous travellers on how to get to the hotel and took the train from Bruxelles-Midi to Luxembourg station with no problems. .

Check -in staff were friendly and efficient, the rooms were spacious and modern and the beds were comfortable it was prety hard to get up in the morning. The bathroom was lovely with a separate shower cubicle in the corner and a bath (with shower nozzle as well) in the opposite corner.

Whilst we were there I had a bit of trouble with the in-room safe but after a quick call to reception someone came knocking at the door within five minutes and quickly fixed it. You can also borrow a travel adaptor from reception, if like me, you forget to bring it.

For the best frites in Belgium visit 'Maison Antoine', Place Jourdan 1. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. If you're a fan of tarts (savoury and sweet) you must try 'Le Tartisan' located at 27 rue de la paix (It's only abt ten minutes from the hotel, see tartisan.be for more info). They have a huge variety of savoury tarts and for €3 euros my sister got a pot of gorgeous hot chocolate (enough to fill her cup up three times!)

Buses stop close to the hotel (Bus 95 and 38 takes you into town).
As two young female travellers, 25 and 21 we never felt unsafe in the area.
Would we go back to this hotel - most definitely!!

“Excellent Hotel....!!”

Booked this through Expedia as part of a flight+hotel deal.
Stayed in a large double room - don't know if this is the standard double room, but it was excellent.
The bathroom was also a fair size and really gave the whole experience an air of exclusivity.

Hotel is also in a great location - Place Luxembourg is just round the corner with bars and restaurants - and it only takes around 20mins to walk into the centre of Brussels.
Tube is only 10 mins away and this takes you into the centre as well.

As previous reviewers have said, 25 Euros for breakfast is excessive however and I gave this a miss....

All in all a great hotel that I would certainly stay in again.

“Excellent choice”

Radisson SAS EU Hotel Brussels

We chose this hotel based on the good reviews on Tripadvisor.

As other reviewers have said, staying here at the weekend is extremely good value for money. Don't be put off by the fact that it's not located close to the Grand Place. Just around the corner is the Place Luxembourg where there are many bus stops, and a bit further lies the Trone metro station. However, walking to the Grand Place via the royal palace is lovely, and a good way to walk off any belguim chocolate you may have had!

The hotel is extremely handy if you arrive here by eurostar. We caught the train to the Luxembourg station from Brussels-Midi. It was direct, clean and quick. Don't do as we did and do a 10 minute detour when leaving the station though! Instead, take the exit marked "Rue de Treves" and you'll see the hotel on your left.

This hotel is not located in the back of beyond as some reviewers have suggested! Provided you're mobile and buy a day pass (4 euros for 2 people at the weekend?? amazing value), you get the best of both worlds - excellent hotel at a reasonable price and accessible to the hub of Brussels.

“Great value weekend stay”

Radisson SAS EU Hotel Brussels

31 May 2007

We booked this hotel as a result of reviews on the Tripadvisor website. There was a very reasonable weekend rate of € 85 through the hotel's website, which included a € 15 charge for the breakfast for two. Take the breakfast option - it's an amazing buffet and enough to keep you fed for the whole day!
We had a really cold first day in Brussels and tthe sauna downstairs was just the antidote for a rather downtrodden couple.

We had a small problem with the heating - the room was really cold at first, although the staff did put a radiator up there for us when we mentioned this.

All over, a highly recommended hotel.
