My wife and I spent 1 night in this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was clean, spatious and tastly decorated and we had no problems at all. The only little point of critique I have is that for a 5 star hotel, there is still improvement possible as some of the little details are missing like something to shine your shoes, the little goodnight attentions, etc.
The location is not the best of brussels but I didn't found this a hurdle as, once we were in the hotel, you have everything you need. Also, we had a very good price performance for the money we spent, and the copious breakfast was included.

We stayed at Manos on our way to Switzerland. The decor is very chic and a magnificent boutique hotel. The service was fantastic and the staff was very attentive. Note, this hotel is very dog friendly; they even let us take her into the lounge/bar area without any problems! The rooms are very seductive and the hotel is just about a 15 minute walk to the center of Brussels!

“Great Hotel, dodgy area but near Eurostar”

be Manos

8 Oct 2007

Ok so I arrived quite late at night (10pm) and the taxi driver at the eurostar said the hotel was too close, I had to pay Euro 10 for the 5 minute journey. He actually pointed me towards the wrong hotel, a hostel! Walking across the square you realise this ain't the nicest part of town. it's not the red light district, but it's pretty run down.
I eventually found the hotel and it's impressively lit from the outside and has an amazing interior design. The use the motif of portraits photographs of 50 or so people who are connected to the owners of the hotel. You see a collage of these people behind reception and there is one photo on every door. The rooms are spacious, sumptuous use of 'black' and dark materials and farbics, with nicely defined sections and comfy furniture. Good fittings and plasma TV.
The food in the restaurant was good, and they had a good seleciton of breakfasts.

Overall good design, handy location, but not so good neighbourhood.

“Chic Hotel”

I stayed at be Manos hotel in Brussels for 4 nights in September. I selected the hotel primarily for its location as it is a 10 minute walk to the train station (Midi/Zuid). I also did not want a hotel in a noisy tourist area.

The hotel itself is new and chic. It is clearly not your run-of-the-mill hotels. The room was very trendy. Black carpet, black walls, black tile in the bathroom. There is a slightly tinted glass wall between the bedroom and shower. This would not be a good situation for those that don't want to shower in clear view of the person with whom they are sharing a room. I had no complaints with the room. See attached pictures.

The hotel is not without is shortcomings. Like I mentioned, it is close to Midi/Zuid which is very convenient if you are using the train frequently. However, if you are interested in being close to the tourist areas, it is a brisk 15 minute walk to the Grand Place (which is where a lot of the tourist-friendly restaurants are located). Because I was with my husband, the walk didn't bother me. If I were a single female, I would have been uncomfortable walking to the hotel from the Grand Place or Midi/Zuid at night (although no one ever bothered us). There are a few restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel; however, they didn't appear to cater to tourists and they appeared to offer primarily middle eastern cuisine. I am not sure if the hotel has a restaurant that is open in the evenings because they did not provide guests with a listing of hotel amenities, with the exception of room service. In fact, my husband inquired about spa services and it took the person at the front desk 15 minutes to find a listing.

When booking a room via the hotel's website, make sure to inquire if breakfast is included with your room rate. When I booked my room, the breakfast option was an additional 25 euro per person. I declined the option however it appeared that breakfast was included for everyone regardless of whether you paid the additional rate. The breakfast buffet was very nice. It included pastries, breads, juices, coffee, tea, boiled eggs, and meats.

I would recommend this hotel HIGHLY if you don't want to be right in the middle of the tourist areas and like to walk.

Stayed in be Manos for a long bank holiday weekend for a cultural visit to brussels via the Eurostar.
Left our teenage daughters in charge of choosing a suitable hotel and we were slightly cautious when we discovered this ultra modern, stylish converted town house was the prefered choice. Nevertheless we booked it, and i'm very pleased we did.

When walking up to the hotel from the station (5 min walk), we were slightly apprehensive when seeing the vast black building with blacked out windows and doors, and large draping be Manos signs. Entering you are greeted by a very up to date black and white theme with very clever lighting schemes.

The corridors towards the rooms are a mixture of black and lime green from the lights, which at first are a little out there. The doors all have different pictures of people, which are continued throughout the room.

The rooms, entirely black and white are very nicely decorated, with very large flat screen TVs infront of the spacious bed, seperated by a pair of sliding doors. Also in the room is a desk, mini table and chair and a long sofa.
The bathroom is fully modernised with all the latest features, only beware of figuring out the showers and bath taps as it is easy to get drenched.

Food was excellent, especially breakfast, with a large choice of hot and cold. We dined for one night, only the room serivce menu was available but that was a good filling meal.

Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay. Only problem was the location which is quite a way from the centre and a hefty walk. Especially after walking around the town for a while, the walk back was hard to face. The tram and metro service, was however good, if not a little confusing at first.
