I've just returned from Bruges, an amazing place to visit, and stayed at the Ter Reien with three friends for the two nights we were in Belgium. I booked the hotel after reading good reviews here and was very impressed with the property. The reception area and breakfast room look to have been recently updated and are quite modern. There is a lift in the hotel which would be nice if you had a heavy suitcase. We had the quadruple room on the second floor which had one double and two twin beds and was perfect for the four of us. The bathroom was large for European standards and had both a shower and a bathtub. The room itself was very large and had plenty of room. We also had a view of the canal and three big, bright windows. The furnishings were a bit dated, but the room was very clean and tidy. The location is quite good - less than five minutes from the Burg and Markt and pretty quiet apart from the boat tours along the canal. The breakfast which was included with the price was good - no cooked food, but a nice Continental spread with breads, cold cuts, yoghurt, and really good hot chocolate. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ter Reien and would stay there again.
