The first thing that impressed us was their own car park within 50 metres of the hotel. Location of the hotel is excellent, as it is only 200m from the fish market, and less than 5 minutes walk to the town square. Reception was good and speedy. The room we had booked was quirky to say the least. Downstairs was the old stable, which apart from the stalls being left in, had easy chairs, mini bar, and writing desk. Upstairs was a good double bed, with excellent bathroon(Spa bath, shower etc.).
Breakfast was more than adequate, as were the friendly staff.
We had booked a 3 day deal which included dinner 2 nights at the Park Restaurant which is 100m away. Food there was very good, but one night you are only offered the set menu, and if you are not partial to what they have to offer, you might be better off taking an allowance and eatingf a la carte.
The bar was OK, but always quiet. Overall I was most impressed by quality of the hotel, its stakk and its location.
I really recommend their 3 night deal, as it is really good value when you consider they give you dinner 2 evenings, car park, canal ride bus tour and concessions to the museums. When we reurn we will definitely stay at the Jan Brito
