Bruge is a wonderful city to visit, there was so much to see. We only spent three days there and would love to go back.
The hotel was very beautiful. The rooms are impressive and the staff were very helpful. We were origionally put in room 001 but having read a review on Trip Advisor about the noise of this room (ground floor, right by the stairs) we asked to be moved. They did this for us straight away and put us in lovely large room in a quiet part of the hotel. Throughout our stay the staff were very friendly and always spoke to us whenever we saw them.
Breakfast was great and there was plenty to eat. The breakfast room was very pleasant and the waitress was attentive.
Many people go to Bruge for the chocolate, beer and canals - and it does not disappoint. The best hot chocolate in the world can be found at De Proeverie, trust us this place is worth searching out. The beer is lovely - a trip around the brewery is well worth it especially as there is a beer thrown in at the end of the trip! Avoid drinking beer on the main square as it is relatively expensive. Also aovid eating on the squares as they are expensive and to our taste the food was very poor. We went searching just beyond the main tourist areas and found some little gems to eat at. Try to search out 'De Bekoring Brugge' which is a great little bistro - it is as if you were in their own home. The food was amazing and all home cooked.
This place is great to visit - we would highly recommend it.
