We have just returned from spending a week at this hotel. We got a good price on line booking through First Choice. The hotel is very dated but basic and quite clean.

The view from our bedroom was outstanding of the sea. Breakfast was fairly good, only complaint is the self service is in such a small area, bit like queing for school dinners.Evening meals not so good, but we ate out most evenings in the old town.

The hotel its self is in a rather hilly position so not good for less mobile.

Pool area ok but once again very dated. The guy in the coffee shop was very pleasant and looked after us really well. The main bar staff didnt seem friendley at all.

The holiday its self was nice, but i dont think i would stay at the hotel again. The old town is really nice since the sqaure as been finished. Hotel i would class as 2 star.

Our first impression upon arrival was that the hotel looked rather dated and we dreaded to think what our room would be like! But after checking in and being shown to our room... the view was amazing. The best thing about the Do Cerro was the accommodation, room 26 had a fantastic view of Albulfeira and it really made our holiday waking up to such glorious sunshine. The location isn't too great though... the hill is more like 3 seperate hills (including a flight of steps) but it's location above Albulfeira old town made it a quiet base. The pool area is nice and there's a nice bar area, but the food isn't really up to much. We eaten out most nights which was a shame, after paying for half board. All in all the Do Cerro is a lovely base with wonderful views and comfortable accommodation. Simple food and simple decor/funishing. No way should the Do Corro be a 4 star property though, more like a 2 or 3 star.

Albulfeira is a lovely place to stay, the old town is more charming but the new town is still well worth a visit! Seville is well worth a visit too.

my wife and i just spent a week 15th -22nd march 08 at this hotel I would say it is no more than a 2 star we have been on many holidays around spain and isles and are not fussy people and looking at the other reviews we went with an open mind and this is what it is really like.when we arrived we recieved a nice room in the annexe outside in gardens overlooking sea although some other guests werent happy with their rooms in main hotel which is like a rabbit warren they had to go up to 2nd floor on lift then up stairs to 3rd floor. if you are tall like me you will need to bend down to go through most doors it is easy to get lost in hotel. the cleanliness was substandard there are many large fancy windows which look like they have never been properly cleaned .we watched a maid clean some glass doors one day and she only did as far as she could reach.the hotel however has a lot of character.one of the barmen was ignorant but had his favourites .a bit like some when you are all inclusive.now to the restaurant the breakfast was ok the usual you find the bacon although usual streaky was the best ive had in hotels abroad .but no fried eggs unless you paid 3 euros for 2 same for english sausages .the evening meals were acceptable some things same every day like boiled taties and chips always a fish dish on but rest was varied each day .the only prob was the organisation in restaurent the main dishes were all in one corner and only one person could serve themselves at any one time and on many occasions you would an old person taking their time whilst a long queue of 20 people were waiting .and the sweets which werent as important were in the middle. i dread to think what it will be like in peak season.also you find the kitchen staff pushing in to fill the dishes up.as regards to the snack bar near pool the waiter was on par with a snail so dont go if you dont want to wait half hour for cup of coffee(2 people in queue) the location is on top of steep hill as expected but we found a route that was not too bad so long as you are something like fit.albuferia is a nice place all small build white painted which is what we like.all in all good holiday but wont be going back to this hotel again.

“Loved the hotel”

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Estalgem Do Cerro. We had an excellent stay there. The food in the hotel was very good and the restaurant staff were very efficient and helpfull ,nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very good and there was so much drawer and wardrobe space. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were always kept clean. The hotel is very quirky and it is easy to get lost at first.
The hotel is quite near to the old town but in a quiet area up a hill.
Entertainment every evening sometimes good and sometimes not. Would recommend.

“Excellent Hotel and Resort”

Estalagem do Cerro

We have just returned from a four night holiday at Estalagem do Cerro and had a most enjoyable time. The room was cleaned to a high standard, the food was very good (especially as we only paid an extra £11 for 3 of us for 4 nights for the half board). Staff extremely friendly and it was nice to have entertainment in the bar every night. The indoor pool was new since our last visit two years ago and a nice addition to the hotels facilities. Resort very nice and beach lovely. Weather on both visits was very warm and we were able to play and sunbathe on the beach in swimwear. Will return again. Don't let the negative reviews put you off because we have travelled Europe and this hotel was in line with anything we have stayed in before.
