Excellent Hotel with a top class service

We've just come back from a week at the Santa Eulalia - what a great hotel! Had read the reviews before we went and was starting to get a bit concerned. The hotel is just outside Albufeira - probably a blessing - and is right beside a lovely sandy beach - there are a few steps down to the beach but easily managed even with a pram. Beach was very clean and also quiet when we were there.
Hotel suite very spacious and spotlessly clean - well looked after during the week.
All the staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful - they couldn't do enough for you.
Pool area lovely and beautifully warm pools -essential in April as weather wasn't good.
Restaurants very good and food very fresh.
Hotel is most definitely deserving of its 5 star rating and we'd love to go back - girls loved the kids club and would recommend the baby sitting service. Whole hotel and staff fantastic!

We stayed at this hotel in peak seaon -August. The only bad thing I have to say was that the beach was so busy, but it was August, so you should expect that. The Potuguese from the north 'shut down' for their holidays and come to the Algarve at this time also.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment, that was wonderfully spacious with everything you need, although a bit on the bright and colourful side, it was very clean and maintained well. The pools and surrounding area was fantastic and the children could play on the grass area, they often joined in mini football games and bat and ball. It was lovely and not overcrowded at all, you could get sunlongers quite easily without getting up at the crack of dawn to resrve one.
The restaurants were excellent, especially at breakfast. We sometimes swapped our evening meal for a lunch and then we could go out in the evenings to somewhere different. The lunches was superb with fantastic salads and grilled meats and fish to choose from. The staff in the restaurant were very attentive and helpful.
Our children said it was their best holiday yet, and I think I agree!
Very classy but not at all stuffy. Expensive but worth it. I would go back again and highly recomend it!

I have just returned from a 4 day stay at the Grande Real Santa Eulalia, overall I would like to say that I enjoyed my time in Portugal.

I am in my early twenties & I found little to do within the hotel for someone of my age. It is a great resort for those with young children, around March the resort is really quiet. The spa facilities are nice, but too expensive especially there are time restrictions on how long you can use the facilities for per day.

The staff were friendly, the food isn't great. There is a great variety of food but the taste is bland & served warm. I personally would suggest eating outside the hotel.

Every morning, I was woken up by staff who wanted to clean our rooms. I would not come back to this hotel again, only those with young children would appreciate it.
